February has been a month of strengthening our foundation. As we move from formation into operational readiness, our focus has centered on governance alignment, financial planning, and positioning the organization for land acquisition and sustainable funding. Thank you for your continued leadership and stewardship during this pivotal stage. Your engagement during this structural season is what allows us to move forward with clarity and confidence.
February Highlights & Progress
Organizational Milestones
We are pleased to share several key organizational milestones. Our 501(c)(3) status has been officially confirmed, and we are classified as a public charity. A formal compliance calendar has been established to ensure timely IRS and North Carolina filings, and our quarterly board meeting schedule is now set to maintain accountability and strategic momentum. Branding direction has been narrowed and is ready for final vote, and initial budget projections have been drafted to guide responsible growth and program alignment.

Land & Operations Update
We continue due diligence efforts while simultaneously strengthening our financial infrastructure. February included reviewing multi-year revenue projections, aligning projected programming with clear budget categories, and confirming our banking infrastructure and internal financial controls. As we continue to refine this structure, board engagement in identifying aligned funding sources remains critical. Strategic introductions, funding leads, and partnership conversations during this stage will directly influence the pace and sustainability of our growth.
We are also grateful to highlight the support of Michael with Connect IDD, who has been an incredible asset in identifying resources, strengthening networking connections, and offering guidance around IDD programming. His insight and collaborative spirit are helping ensure that our future programming model is both community-informed and operationally sound.
Looking ahead to March
Our priorities include finalizing a board-aligned budget, securing at least one formal funding commitment, continuing land due diligence, advancing our grant identification pipeline, and preparing documentation for submission to the North Carolina Attorney General’s office.
We are in a season of cultivation, and not visible harvest yet, but intentional groundwork. The systems, governance, and financial alignment we are building now will determine the strength and sustainability of everything that grows from here.
