May has marked a significant transition for Verdant Valor Sanctuary as we move from early formation into more structured implementation and applied development. With Practicum officially underway, this month has brought increased clarity, accountability, and alignment between organizational development and academic learning objectives that directly support VVS’ long-term growth.

This past week, members of our board, Melissa Bové, Kennith Watts Jr., Shady Mohamed, and Andrew Febre, embarked on market research across North Carolina to deepen our understanding of how mission-driven farms and community programs are building sustainable, inclusive spaces.
